Can you believe it?! I’m actually blogging!
This post is dedicated to my friend T, who was admin of a fansite I worked on for several years. T would always talk about how she got her greatest moments of insight while in the shower, and I can honestly say that she’s right. Think about it! How many times have you had a great idea, or been struck with clarity on something, while you were in the shower?
I’ve been toying with an idea for a new picture book for several weeks now…I knew what I wanted the message to be…kinda. I knew what I wanted it to be about…kinda. How to execute? I had no clue.
But this morning in the shower, I got a rush of inspiration. Finally! You can’t force creativity, so I’ve been trying to be patient and give my brain the time and space and it needed to figure out how to tell this story I wanted to tell.
But I was getting nervous. Days turned into weeks turned into months…and no light bulbs. No great ideas. No direction.
So, needless to say, I was more than a little relieved to have inspiration hit this morning — in the shower, of course! It’s by no means a finished idea, but it’s a start. And a start is all I need to get going.
Let’s do this. 2022, here I come.
