HAHA J/K! I need an outline.

Okay, so remember a few months before NaNoWriMo I wrote a blog post where I’m all, “Forgot planning! I’m just going to write! Leggo!” Well…

That didn’t go so well.

I lasted about a week in NaNo before I had to quit for several (valid) reasons. But one of them, I think, really was that I would open my computer each day knowing I needed to write 1,667 words and having no idea how that was going to happen. It stalled the writing process for me. Yes, I definitely see the benefits in pantsing. But because my time is so limited (I have a newborn), my writing blocks are a set period of time for X number of minutes where I need to get words down. So over the holiday break, I pulled my trusty spreadsheet back out and lined it up with my 4-act structure. I’m happy with the result. Not every single chapter is plotted out, but I have more of an idea what I’d like to do at what point in the story.

I think.

I also finally tried my hand at an aesthetic, which you can check out on my Instagram and Twitter pages.

How’s your writing going?
